BREVARD, N.C. - The USA South Conference announced on Monday that Brevard sophomore goalkeeper Rebeccah Rojas was named USA South Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. It marked the fourth Player of the Week honor for Brevard College Women's Soccer this year, with Ashley Hughes winning Player of the Week for the week ending on Sept. 23, and fellow goalkeeper Hannah Weatherall winning Defensive Player of the week for the weeks ending on Sept. 23 and Sept. 30.
The combination of Rojas and Weatherall in goal, alongside a defensive back line featuring Lane Berchtold, Chloe Proffitt, and Emma White are a large part of why Brevard enjoys a 9-5-0 record to date. Rojas has recorded four shutouts in 2018, which ties a Brevard College NCAA-era record for shutouts in a single season.
