  • Tornados Win at Pfeiffer in Fall Finale

    he Brevard College women’s tennis team earned a resounding 8-1 victory over host Pfeiffer University on Sunday afternoon in Misenheimer, North Carolina. The match concluded the Fall portion of the 2019-20 schedule for the Tornados women’s tennis squad under the direction of Head Coach Brad Jones. The Tornados jumped out to a 3-0 lead in doubles play, then won five of the six singles matches to take the team victory.
  • BC Women’s Tennis Drops 5-2 Result to NCAA DII UVA-Wise

    The Brevard College women’s tennis team dropped a 5-2 result to NCAA Division II University of Virginia Wise on Saturday in Wise, Virginia. The Tornados produced two impressive wins in singles play with victories by freshmen Alli Kogoy and Sarah Iocovozzi.
  • Number One Singles Win by Sepe Highlights BC Tennis Home Opener

    The Brevard College men's and women’s tennis teams opened their 2019-20 home schedules on a hot and humid Tuesday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex.  The Tornado women's team fell 8-1 to the visiting Lions, while Piedmont defeated Brevard 9-0 in the regular-season opener for the BC men’s team.  Senior Samantha Sepe, an All-USA South Conference performer in 2018-19, provided the Tornados with the home team’s lone victory.  In a competitive battle played in sweltering conditions, Sepe topped Piedmont’s Caroline Connelly 6-1, 6-4 in number one singles.
  • Titles by BC’s Iocovozzi, Kogoy Highlight Successful Battle of the Blue Ridge

    Brevard College freshmen Sarah Iocovozzi and Allison Kogoy each won singles championships to lead the Tornados Women’s Tennis team at the Battle of the Blue Ridge.  The women’s tennis event was hosted by Sweet Briar College at the Dennis Van Der Meer Tennis Center in Sweet Briar, Virginia.
  • Draws Set for Inaugural Battle of the Blue Ridge, Hosted by Sweet Briar College

    The Brevard College Women’s Tennis team will take part in the inaugural “Battle of the Blue Ridge” Women’s Tennis Tournament in Sweet Briar, Virginia this Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 7-8).  Host Sweet Briar College has announced the official draws for the ITA-sanctioned event, pegging senior Tornado student-athlete Samantha Sepe as the number-one overall seed in the Singles Main bracket.   Each set of brackets are in a double-elimination format, where round one winners move on to the “winners” bracket, while round one losers move into the “consolation” bracket. In each bracket, an individual and doubles champion and consolation champion will be crowned. There are five brackets in total – Singles Main, Singles Pink, Singles Green, Doubles Main, and Doubles Pink. Seeding was determined by each participant’s Universal Tennis Rating (UTR), where Sepe ranked tops out of all tournament entrants.
  • Fall Schedule Set for Brevard College Men’s & Women’s Tennis Programs

    Newly-minted Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach Brad Jones has announced the Fall portion of the Tornados’ 2019-20 schedule.  The men’s team will play a total of four matches over the course of the September and October months. BC’s women’s team kicks off its Fall season by taking part in the Battle of the Blue Ridge, a two-day tournament on September 7-8 hosted by Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Va. Opponents for the Battle of the Blue Ridge are still to be determined.   Following the women’s tournament at Sweet Briar College, the two teams join together for the rest of the Fall season.
